"I went through Wood Badge as a Scoutmaster nine years ago, and it changed my whole perspective on how I could work more effectively with the boys and my fellow volunteers- not to mention the other parts of my life- church, family, work.  Like many people, I probably went to 'get my beads' but instead, I ended up gaining a complete change in how I viewed the Scouting program.
"For me, Wood Badge was a life-changing experience.  I love to teach, and love watching the light bulbs go off when a group of strangers start to come together and click as a team.
"Wood Badge teaches teamwork.  It teaches communication.  It teaches us that conflict is unavoidable and a part of life.  It teaches a love for the Scouting program.  And ultimately, it teaches that no matter who we are, where we come from, and where we are in our Scouting 'walk', we all have something tremendous that we can bring to each other."
